Sewing

As I walked in the room, I could smell the scent of the vicious sewing machine, Bernina. Across our sewing classes we have learnt the mechanics of threading a machine and how it works.

My final task for sewing was to finish my coin purse which I had designed, but there was a problem, there was no way that I could do it on my own! To be honest, I wasn’t very good at stitching and threading things.

My design incorporated the Union Jack on the back and the Irish flag on the front. Controlling the speed that the machine went was done through putting weight onto the pedal. Cautiously I pressed the pedal to start off slowly at first and then I put more weight on it so that it would go faster. I didn’t realize that I was going really fast until I was halfway.I had high expectations of myself to complete my purse. In the end my purse turned out to be what I expected it to be.
